A project which invites the Youth country wide to own businesses through a franchise model with us and our partners !

Youth For Youth Employment Franchise Project (YEFP)

Hot Loaf Bakery Limited is partnering with Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) to implement the Mastercard Foundation Young Africa Works (YAW) strategy to create decent and fulfilling work opportunities for the youth across the country through the Youth for Youth Employment Franchise Project (YEFP). The project targets to employ 2,440 youth across the bakery value chain (downstream activities—Youth to own Franchises, midstream activities—Production and upstream activities—Households engaged in farming activities). Entrepreneurial youth are invited to make their application in taking part of the project as they become job creators rather than job seekers.

Project Description

The project invites the Youth country wide to own businesses through a franchise model with its partners. Businesses will be within the Confectionary and Apiary Sectors. Bee keeping as a business will specifically focus on Youth within the Lango Region. The Project involves a co-financing model with equal contributions from project actors (Mastercard Foundation, PSFU, Hot Loaf Bakery Limited and Enterprising Youth). Youth contributions will strictly facilitate the acquisition of basic assets, as well as, pay initial rent required to establish their franchise. Benefits of a single/bulk procurement process shall enable cost saving, accountability and the acquisition of quality products/services under the project.

A loan facility has been placed at Equity Bank and Centenary Bank to support the Youth receive affordable finance to en- sure their participation under the project. All payments (as a contribution or payment of goods/ services) must be made on the project account hosted by DFCU Bank under the account name of Hot Loaf Bakery Limited and account number
01363619388220. The project will not be liable for transactions conducted with other parties outside the banking system.
